What is Vertical screw conveyor?
The vertical screw conveyor and the horizontal screw conveyor are roughly the same in structure and are also composed of driving devices (motors, reducers, couplings), screws, bearings, troughs, feed ports, and discharge ports. Vertical screw conveyor is a continuous conveying equipment that uses forced feeding screw rotation to convey materials for lifting. Working principle of Vertical screw conveyor
During the conveying process, the material rotates at a high speed with the screw. Due to the centrifugal force, the material forms several concentric layers in the trough, and the outer layer of the material is close to the trough wall. When the screw speed is high, the centrifugal force on the material is greater than the friction between the material and the surface of the screw. The material moves towards the outer edge of the spiral, exerting pressure on the walls of the chute and at the same time creating friction. Only when this frictional force is greater than the sum of the frictional force between the material and the spiral surface and the component force of the material gravity, the material will slide with the spiral surface and rise along the spiral trajectory in the opposite direction.
